2008 Football Season
The 2008 Football Season is only weeks away from starting (2008 PSU Football Schedule). The chapter has received its set of season tickets and has selected a local establishment for viewing the games. Please join local PSU alumni and fans at Mad River in Federal Hill, the PSAA Baltimore Chapter's official game-day venue. During the 2008 season, Mad River will be offering:
PSU Football ticket raffles and giveaways
A custom Penn State menu with Pokey Sticks, Monkey Boys, etc.
Custom Penn State cups
A DJ to play the Fight Song, Alma Mater, and Bounce
A special reserved area for night games
A donation to the PSAA Baltimore Chapter scholarship fund based on a portion of game-day sales
No Idea Tavern in Federal Hill will also be offering game day specials. City Limits and the Gin Mill are no longer affiliated with the PSAA Baltimore Chapter and are no longer official PSAA Baltimore Chapter game-day viewing locations.
New Baltimore Chapter Officers
The Baltimore Chapter held its Officer Elections last week during the July 17, 2008 Chapter Meeting. The meeting was well attended and there were many members ready to become involved in making the Chapter a success. A few new positions were even created to accommodate different areas of interest. Please join us in welcoming our three new Officers Ashley Marzzacco - Secretary, Adam Bussey - Social Chair, and Max Pitulski - Networking Chair. PSU Baltimore Chapter T-Shirts For Sale
The Baltimore Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association has created a chapter t-shirt to show its PSU pride. The t-shirts are white with We Are Penn State / Penn State Alumni - Baltimore on the front and a small Penn State Alumni Association logo on the back near the neck. If you are interested in pre-ordering a shirt (or two, or three...), please contact Tyler Pierotti at TFPierotti@aol.com or Kevin kanderson@rkk.com. The cost is $10/shirt for members and $15/shirt for non-members. Otherwise, a variety of t-shirt sizes will be available for purchase at upcoming chapter events. And, if the shirts turn-out well, an order of koozies, with a similar logo, may be placed.
Summer Promotion For 2008 - 2009 Chapter Membership
Currently, we are offering a Summer Promotion for new and renewing members for the 2008-2009 year. To anyone submitting a completed membership application and dues payment prior to August 21, 2008, a chapter t-shirt will be given. T-shirts may be picked-up at any Fall chapter event or from one of the board members. In addition, these new and renewing members will be entered into a drawing for two tickets to the PSU vs. Coastal Carolina football game on August 30, 2008. To be eligible for these additional membership benefits, it is important that your application and dues payment be received by the Baltimore Chapter no later than August 21, 2008. Kickball Team Sign-Ups
Kickball sign-ups are around the corner and we are fielding two teams this season, both in Canton (1 beginner and 1 intermediate). The season starts in September and lasts approximately eight weeks. Games will be played Thursday nights, with game times ranging between a 6:00 pm start and a 10:00 pm start. The cost is $40 per player which includes registration fee and T-shirt.
