Sat., Oct. 25 Penn State Beats Ohio State 13-6 -- Chapter members munched on great food as a raucous crowd at The Main Event in Plainview, NY cheered on the Nittany Lions who captured the leading position for the Big Ten Championship (see photo at top of page).
Sat., Oct. 11 Penn State vs. Wisconsin -- Chapter members enjoyed a leisurely dinner at The Main Event in Plainview, NY as we watched the Nittany Lions trounce the badgers 48-7.
Sat., Sept. 27 Penn State vs. Illinois -- Chapter members enjoyed a leisurely dinner at The Main Event in Plainview, NY as we watched the Nittany Lions defeat the Illini.
Sun., Aug. 24 Big Ten NY Metro Alumni Mets Game -- Thanks to our Chapter Treasurer, Samantha Condolff, we had another superb outing this summer, with great food and company, including the NYC PSU Chapter and Big Ten Alumni Chapters.
Sun., July 13: Dinner at the Bonwit Inn in Commack - Chapter members (as well as two new members) got together for a delicious summer Sunday dinner, cordial conversation and prizes. Our thanks to Samantha Condolff and Jerry Dano for hosting this fun event.
Sun., June 29 Belmont Racetrack Family Fun Day -- Penn State Chapter members enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and tour of the stables thanks to the efforts of chapter Director Debbie Brutsch Crehan.
Sat. Apr 12 Penn State men's lacrosse falls short in 11-7 loss to St. John's -- the Nittany Lions stayed within range of St John's through three quarters before St. John's widened their lead for good. LI Chapter members enjoyed the great weather (partly sunny and a balmy 75 degrees) and a fine tailgate event after the game, attended by the lacrosse team and coach, Glenn Thiel, his wife, his daughter and son-in-law (Ken and Lani Wille are LI Chapter members) and their two young children.
2008 Chapter Elections-- The slate of officers running for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary have been re-elected unanimously by chapter members for another year of service. Thank you for your support and we look forward to another year of fun activities.
PSU Rugby Champions -- it was a great weekend for the Penn State Men's and Women's teams. The former won there first, while the latter maintained their status as both teams won their MARFU Championships.
Fri., Feb. 29, at 6:00 p.m. Penn State City Lights came to NYC -- The Long Island Chapter was present in Manhattan at The Princeton Club of New York. Musical Theatre Department Head Cary Libkin hosted a discussion about Broadway Connections. Penn State President, Dr. Graham Spanier and head of the Alumni Association, Roger Williams, also addressed the audience.
Ice Lions Defeat C.W. Post 7-1, on Sat. Feb. 16 -- Chapter members ate a leisurely dinner in Great Neck before attending a triumphant victory by the Ice Lions.
